Smart City Services in Brno - Map of Travel Times
Strych, Tomáš ; Najman, Pavel (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
The main goal of this thesis is to provide users with a web application through which they can obtain, based on the current timetable, graphical information on the estimated time availability of urban and intercity traffic in the South Moravian Region. The automation of data processing and publishing to the server has been solved in the comprehensive ArcGIS geographic information system. Graphical display of data, on a web page, is resolved on the client side, using JavaScript. The created solution provides the user with graphics information about the time availability from a predetermined location in South Moravia. Based on the results of this work, another way of analyzing timetables has been created. This analyze can lead to improved timetables.
Application of geographic information systems in company
Ratičák, Milan ; Novotný, Jan (referee) ; Kříž, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this Master´s Thesis is to evaluate abilities of the ArcGIS geographic information system. It explores the possibility of extending it´s practical application to company purposes in conditions of Czech Republic. Ths thesis explores a practical application of geomarketing, traffic tools, risk analysis, optimization and planning, cartography, 3D visualization and usage of GIS as a map server. Final task is to describe potential and application of geographical information systems at different types of companies, which can be used as a base for distribution to customers from this market segment.
Operating Data in TerraGear GIS Project
Samia, Michel ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Hrubý, Martin (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with design and implementation of system for providing, loading and viewing geographical data from TerraGear GIS project with taking advance of SimGear library. System accesses digital terrain model and land cover data saved in Binary TerraGear file format via simple application protocol above TCP/IP and views it by FreeGLUT library.
Spectral Indices as a Tool for Hop Growth Evaluation
Seidlová, Jana ; Procházka, Pavel ; Kumhálová, Jitka
The use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to monitor crop growth is nowadays a common non-invasive way how to obtain information on the current state of crops. Spectral indices derived from multispectral images obtained in the right growth stage can then serve as a good data source for agro-technical interventions and yield estimation. Hop belongs among the crops where it is possible to scan the individual growth parameters very exactly. In the year 2021, significant precipitation amounts were recorded during the growing season, when it turned out that UAVs are a very powerful tool for determining the quality of production or quantification of vegetation damage compared to the previous year (2020). It was found that the common spectral indices were possible to use for calculation leaf area, structure, vigor and chlorophyll content of hop gardens.

Geoinformatic applications in landscape genetics
Mráz, Jakub ; Hulva, Pavel (advisor) ; Romportl, Dušan (referee)
This Bachelor thesis shows elementary methods used in landscape genetics. Landscape genetics is a combine field of population genetics and landscape ecology. This field of study uses geoinformatic and statistic methods and methods of its mother fields. Here, the genetic methods from population genetics, will not be shown. This thesis is concern by the methods that are applied in study of the population boundaries and connectivity between populations. History and paradigm of both landscape genetics and Geoninformatic methods are also mentioned, for easier understanding of context. Lastly, most methods here are listed with Geoinformatic systems (GIS), which are computer programs, capable of using these methods and apply them on needed projects. Keywords: GIS, Landscape Genetics, Landscape Ecology, Connectivity, Least-cost path, Circuit theory
Analysis of cycle paths using GIS in the Příbram region
Mrva, Cyril ; Hudeček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Štych, Přemysl (referee)
Use of GIS for analysis of cycling in the district of Příbram Abstract This work is focused to analyze communications in the district of Příbram in terms of suitability for bicycle transportation and to create a basis for designing the optimal guidance of cycle routes. First part is dedicated to recherche legislation in sphere of Other sections are devoted to an analysis options and functions of geoinformation systems and design a proper solution. The conclusion is devoted to the application obtained data and to the design of new cycle routes. Keywords: cycling, geoinformatics, slope analysis, distance analysis, cost surfaces, network analysis, cycle routes designing
Geoinformatics in secondary school's curriculum
Král, Luboš
This thesis is focused on the use of geospatial tools in secondary schools in Czech republic. Subject of study are mainly Geographic information systems (GIS) and Remote sensing and their implementation into secondary school curricula. Aplication a research in this area is in the centre of interest of IGU. Previous works showed, that GIS has great potential to contribute to effective learning of geographic concepts, knowledge and GIS can be a tool for display, inquiry and analysis in problem based learning. The main goal is to explore the current state of geoinformatics involvement in teaching in secondary schools and to identify how to develop this condition at all levels of the curriculum (intended, implemented and attained). In order to achieve this general objective in thesis are chosen for each level of curriculum following goals: 1) At the level of intended curriculum we are dealing with two questions: At first, how is geoinformatic's topic presented in national's curriculum of a selected countries. At second, which geoinformatic skills should be acquired by secondary school's students. The main method is content analysis of documents. 2) At the level of implemented curriculum we try to provide findings regarding the current state of proliferation of the GIS software at Czech grammar schools...

Story Maps - Dynamic Visualization Tool For Spatial Security Threats
Trojan, J. ; Nováková, Eva
The paper is aimed at presenting possibilities of cloud forms of a simple visualization of security threats on example of Story Maps by ESRI platform. The discussion of state-ofthe-art is bounded by specific forms of selected security risks in the environmental sciences, which were prepared in a GIS Laboratory at the Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management at Tomas Bata University in Zlin. The paper also refers to discussion of big data obtained in the context of the so-called citizen science, which are subject to project of an international consortium under the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST CA15212).
Implementation of the Aruba Meridian in the library of University of Economics in Prague
Strnad, Pavel ; Novotný, Ota (advisor) ; Matějka, Martin (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the implementation of a navigation system Aruba Meridian inside the library of the University of Economics in Prague. The aim was to create a pilot project that is able to analyze the functionality of the Aruba Meridian system in a real environment. Within this project, it was necessary to become more familiar with concepts such as Location intelligence and Geoinformatics to provide a sufficient theoretical base at the same time as an overview of the technologies currently used for indoor navigation. An important goal was also to understand the demands for the implementation of indoor navi-gation and to determine the workflow that formed the basis for the practical part. As part of the practical part, the Aruba Meridian system was implemented in the library environment of the University of Economics in Prague, where it was subsequently tested for its properties. The achievement of these objectives was achieved in several parts. At first, the work is devoted to the brief introduction to the problems and the deeper development of the prop-erties of the individual goals, followed by the critical search of information sources related to this work. The next part deals with the definition of Location intelligence and the basic concepts. This section is followed by an introduction to the technologies used for localiza-tion inside buildings and, subsequently, the definition of rules for the implementation of bluetooth technologies. The last part is practical, where the Aruba Meridian tool and its properties are first introduced, followed by implementation, testing and evaluation. The main benefit of this work is the testing of the Aruba Meridian system in real environment and the evaluation of its functionality as one of the systems for navigation inside buildings, which is still increasing, but they are not particularly used in the Czech Republic.
